Madame Estate, This year St. Maarten Cable TV 2017 carnival sponsorship has been geared towards local events.
“Sponsorship request is one of the most correspondence we receive on a daily basis especially during carnival. While it is not possible to say yes to every request, every year we have a main criteria in order to select applicants or potential recipients for sponsorship for Carnival”, Ms. Beulah Jonis, Managing Director informed.
Tropical Life children troupe is in its second year and have about 90 participants registered for the Children parade which will be on April 8th, 2017. This year for the parades, we decided to sponsor a troupe in the children parade mainly because we feel this is the parade that is overlooked.
Ms. Sade Hodge, troupe leader of Tropical Life, received a sponsorship amount of $1,000. “It was a pleasure to meet Ms. Hodge, an ambitious, talented and young person making her mark in one of our biggest cultural event”, Ms. Jonis remarked. This year Tropical Life children troupe increased its participant more than 300%.
Ms. Hodge enthusiastically indicated that this sponsorship will go towards the teen section. This is the first time having a teen section for this troupe which have about 15 teenagers registered.
“We applaud Ms. Hodge and the Tropical Life team for the efforts they are doing to continue building the St. Maarten Children’s Parade,” Ms. Jonis stated in closing.
